The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured that the phase two of the Adiyan water works project to supply Lagos residents with seventy million gallons of water per day will be completed in the next 10 to 12 months.
The governor said this when he paid a working visit to the water works project, Wednesday.
Sanwo-Olu who was accompanied by his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, restated the commitment of his administration to the completion of the project which is 80 percent completed.
He thanked the residents of the area for their cooperation and expressed satisfaction on the spate of work done by the contractor on the project.
Sanwo-Olu stated that when completed, it would enhance the socio-economic, lifestyle and living standard of Lagosians, just as he pledged that the state government would improve on the Independent Power Project in Akute to power the facility.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the state government had continued to rededicate itself to providing Lagosians access to adequate pipe borne water.
