Labour Party sweeps presidential polls in Enugu

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi defeated all the candidates in the presidential race in Enugu state in the Saturday polls.

In all the 17 local government areas that made up the state, Obi took lead in all.

In Aninri local government, Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s council area, LP won with 11,339 votes to PDP’s 395 while APC came third with 64 votes.

LP scored 19,803 votes out of 21,465 accredited voters in Awgu local government.  PDP scored 445 and APC, 221.

Also in Enugu East, LP came first with 48,085, PDP 845 while APC got 212 votes.

In Enugu North, the story is the same as LP scored 44,666 above PDP with 339 and APC, 229.

Enugu South, Jim Nwobodo and Ken Nnamani home local government, Labour Party came first with 38,511, PDP, 336, while APC scored 194.

Ezeagu local government with 18,419 accredited voters, LP scored 16,245, PDP 537 and APC, 186.

In Igbo-Etiti, LP scored 25,001 votes to defeat PDP with 764 and APC, 476.

Labour Party also swept Igbo-Eze North with accredited voters of 27,883 with 15,125 votes to top PDP with 1,174 and APC, 181.

The Labour Party equally took lead in Igbo-Eze South with 17,855 votes, PDP 1,009 while APC scored 352.

In Isi-Uzo, Hon. Chijoke Edeoga, Labour Party Governorship Candidate, Labour Scored 16,822 to outscore PDP with 1,768, while APC scored 129.

In Nkanu East, LP swept polls with 11,746.  PDP scored 1,430 and APC got 94 votes.

The Labour Party scored 15,026 in Nkanu West, Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani’s council area while PDP got 550 and APC, 343.

In Nsukka local government, the University town of UNN, LP scored 54,245, PDP, 2,037 and APC, 433.

In the same vein, LP won in Oji River with 17,793, PDP, 864 and APC, 280.

Labour Party outscored other parties in Udenu local government, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s council area with 26,633, PDP, 1,157 and APC, 527.

In Udi local government, LP won with 35,408, PDP, 936 and APC, 611, while in Uzo-Uwani, LP continued the lead with 11,975, PDP, 1,164 whereas APC got 440 votes.
