Kwara journalists, security agencies hold talks

Kwara state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) will tomorrow engage journalists and security agencies on a round table to improve discuss issues that would promote peace and security in the country.

The round table talk which would hold at the NUJ Press Centre, Ilorin, beginning from 10am, would focus on “Security Agencies and the Involvement of Community Development Association in the Promotion of Peaceful Co-existence in Kwara State and Nigeria.”
State chairman of the council, Malam Abiodun Abdulkareem, said the round was in honour of the chief security officer of the state, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

He said the talk was organised by the council to enhance synergy among journalists and security agencies in promoting peaceful co-existence in the country.
A statement jointly issued by the chairman and assistant secretary of the 2014 Press Week committee, Malam Ali Muhammad Rabiu, and Mr. Ahmed Abdullateef in Ilorin, said the programme was part of activities marking its week-long Press Week.
The statement added that the Week would be climaxed May 15 with Dinner/Award night and launch of a N50 million Pen School project in Ilorin at 5pm.
It stated that the NUJ pen warriors football team will also engaged members of RATTAWU in a novelty match on the pitch of the Kwara Football Academy, Ilorin on May 14, at 4pm.
