Kwara APC stakeholders demand Saraki, Ahmed’s expulsion

…Hails Oshiomohle over sack of state exco

Some stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state have commended the National Working Committee for the dissolution of state party executives.

Speaking with newsmen at the APC national secretariat in Abuja Tuesday, the leader of the group, Taiwo Awodiji said the stakeholders were urging the party leadership to expel the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki and Kwara governor, Abdulfatai Ahmed as well as their loyalists.

He also said that the group would want the party to order a fresh membership registration to enable it to ascertain its authentic members.

“You are aware of the recent development in our polity, where a number of legislators defected to other parties. We the stakeholders of the party in Kwara state had forwarded a letter to the NWC making a number of demands.

“Among these demands are that the executive of the party in Kwara be dissolved and God be the glory, our able national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole was able to take the bull by the horn and on Monday he dissolved the executive in Kwara state.

“We are here in respect of that to commend the national chairman and NWC for responding to our demand,” he said.

Some of the inscriptions on the placards held by members of group read: “Sack Saraki from APC”, Kwara state trust PMB more than Saraki.”

Apart from the sack of the party executives, the chieftain said they requested for fresh membership registration in the state.

He said that they also want the national chairman to look into their other requests including the expulsion of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Kwara state governor, Abdulfatai Ahmed and their loyalists for their anti party activities.

When asked to mention any anti party acts the Senate President has committed, Awodeji said Senator Saraki-Senate had most of the time constituted itself as a stumbling block to the passage of Bill by the APC administration led President Muhammadu Buhari.

The concerned party members had earlier planned to stage a protest today at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja against Bukola Saraki for alleged anti-party activities, but later dropped the idea.
