Kwara ACPN suspends chairman, adopts Atiku, Saraki, Atunwa

The Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) Kwara state chapter of the party has suspended its national chairman Alhaji Ganiyu Galadima.

The suspension was sequel to his adoption of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari as the party’s presidential candidate.

The ACPN chairman in the state, Elder Kuti Kayode, who announced the suspension of Galadima at a news conference in Ilorin Wednesday, claimed the suspended chairman had taken some crucial decision without due recourse to the national executive of the party.

In respect of the adoption of the APC presidential candidate, elder Kuti claimed Galadima took a unilateral decision, stressing that it was not the consensus of the party.

He also announced the decision of the ACPN members in the state to pitch their tent with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming general elections.

“The Kwara state chapter which is the strongholds of ACPN in the country has decided to pitch its tent with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“We adopt the presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Honourable Razak Atunwa as the Kwara state governor, Senator Bukola Saraki as senator representing Kwara central and all other the PDP candidates in the state.

“Furthermore, our candidates are willing to step and work with the PDP candidates across the board.

“We have held meetings with our members across the 16 local government areas of the state and there are on the page with us in our decision to adopt all the PDP’s candidates for elective offices in the 2019 general elections”, he said.
