Governor of Kano state, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, his Sokoto state counterpart, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  former governor of Zamfara state, Senator Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura, and other top members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the North-west zone last night held a crucial caucus meeting of the party behind closed doors, in Kaduna.
A prominent member of the APC told our reporter last night that the meeting was called to review several issues discussed in their past meetings as well as pressing challenges the party is facing in the zone.
The meeting, the source said, was chaired by the North-west zone national chairman, Barrister Inuwa Abdulkadir, and other national officers of the party from the zone.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, and some members of the National Assembly from the zone were said to be at the meeting.
It was not confirmed if Zamfara state governor, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, was at the meeting.
The source said, “They are meeting to review past issues and pressing ones in the polity. The meeting will also discuss fortunes and challenges of our party in the North-west zone and our position regarding the national polity and our party at the national level.”
When our reporter contacted Malam Baba Halilu Dantiye, Governor Kwankwaso’s spokes-man, he said: “Yes, they are meeting and they are inside, but it is a caucus meeting and behind closed doors. If there is any communiqué of the caucus meeting, I will  communicate to you.”
As at the time of filing this report last night, the governors were still in the meeting.
