Kuje school graduates 40, urges govt to invest in education

Chairman, Glory and Praise International School, Kuje, Ambassador Michael Oladeji, has called on the federal government to invest more in education for the development of education sector. He made the call at the weekend during the graduation and prize giving ceremonies of 40 SS 3 grandaunts of the school in Kuje. Th e chairman said there was the need to invest more on education as it was the bedrock of all sectors, adding that private school owners also needed government’s assistance to foster the development of the education sector.

“Th e government should look at the education sector critically and pump in money for more growth and development of education in the country. When there is proper investment into the education sector, someone will defi nitely head all these sectors to ensure proper implementation of some policies,” he said. Earlier, the guest speaker, Mr. Larayetan Semiye Michael, spoke on the topic “Negative Eff ects of Social Media on Students,” describing the social media as “weapon of mass distraction.

” He said even the new drugs produced nowadays are in the social media, advising parents to monitor their children and caution them on the use of social media as it had negative impact on some wards in the society.
