It was celebrations galore at Kubwa General Hospital, Abuja yesterday, as the hospital management treated all staff of the hospital to an end-of- year party.

Blueprint Weekend gathered that the party was in appreciation of the dedication of the staff to their respective duties.
It was the hospital management’s idea of rewarding dedicated service as well as motivation for other staff.

Aside the dining and winning, 35 staff of the hospital ranging from the cleaners, generator operators to other staff including doctors, nurses, lab scientist, head of account as well as two retired staff, were awarded with certificates in honour of their dedication and commitment to their respective duties.

Amidst the merriment, the hospital’s Medical Director, Dr. Ahmed Danfulani told the staff and other guest in his remarks that “no good work goes unrewarded.

“Today is not just a day of dining and winning. It is for us to recognise various people that have served us in various capacities. We are doing this to let you know your effort towards development of Kubwa General Hospital is not in vein.

“I want you to know that whatever you are doing is not in vein. There will always be a time like this for your reward.

The awardees, who went home with varieties of gifts, in a chat with Blueprint Weekend, expressed appreciation to the hospital management for the honour accorded them.

Mr. Francis Alimasunya, the former head of account in the hospital said he felt highly honoured being given the award as well as the gifts.

“My MD is a good man whom I always love to work with all the time. The message is that in any job you find yourself, put in your best and you will get the reward in due time”, he said.

Reacting, other hospital staff commended the gesture, describing the Medical Director’s decision to reward the staff as a very good development that will motivate hard work by all staff.

One of the staff in the Information Communications Technology (ICT) Department, Danladi Shaba said: “Everybody is happy that this is happening. All work and no play they say make Jack a dull boy.

We have been working through the year. Today everybody is going to save their money because they are so many things to eat and drink. It is a very good thing that the hospital is appreciating us.”
