Leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lokoja local government area of Kogi state yesterday endorsed a member of the House of Assembly, Hon. Suleman Baba Doko, representing Lokoja 1 state constituency, for second term.
Addressing a press conference in Lokoja, the secretary of the party in Lokoja council, Shaibu Momoh, said Baba Doko antecedents in the council had informed their endorsement of him for the 2015 general elections.

He added that the lawmaker had represented the interest of his people, saying the only way to compensate him was to support him for second term to continue his legislative activities.

Reacting, another aspirant, Omar Gwadabe, of the PDP from the same constituency, described the endorsement as “illegal and a huge joke,” saying that it “can never see the light of the day.”
He pointed out that there was a gentleman agreement that entrenched rotation of political positions, including that of the assembly seat, noting that at a certain meeting held by the elders of the party, the issue of zoning was discussed and resolved that it was the turn of his ward which had never had a taste of any position before.

Also speaking ,  the former councilor, representing Ward D, Sule Salisu Danladi, said the endorsement was a mere trick to confuse the people, explaining that he, as one of the political leaders in the area, was not aware of the action.
Danladi, therefore, declared support for the zoning agreement, warning that the zoning arrangement should not be jettisoned in the interest of peace and unity.
