The Concerned Members of the Executive Council of Kogi state chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) yesterday advised Governor Idris Wada of Kogi state to shelve his ambition to return to Lugard House in next month’s gubernatorial elections, saying that his administration was particularly disappointing to you and well-meaning indigenes.

Spokesman of the group, Comrade Salami Abdullahi, who spoke at a press briefing convened yesterday in Abuja, cited “insincere youth development policies and total absence social policies for the downtrodden” as some of the failures of the Wada administration.

He said continuity of the administration would spell doom for the youth and the many young people who were in need of social development policies.
He said: “Capt. Wada led administration of Kogi state has under-performed in various other sectors notably youth empowerment, women development and agricultural transformation.

The failure of the administration to deliver on its promises in these critical areas of the economy has created massive unemployment of youth and even the elder population.”

Continuing, he said: “Wada’s administration is full of insincere promises and policies,” he said, adding that the masses of the state should exercise their votes in favour not of any body or political party but in respect of a party that presents the most credible candidate with a political record of sincere execution of policies and satisfactory service delivery.
“It is obvious that Capt Wada’s leadership in the last four years lacks focus, and it has continued to demonstrate failures showing that it is incapable of consolidating on youth development agenda it inherited from previous government,’ he said, adding that ‘Captain Wada has equally failed to meet up to expectation in provision of infrastructure, educational facilities, health and youth empowerment.”
