Kogi NUJ to unveil book on media development at press week





The Kogi state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alhaji Adeiza Momohjimoh, Tuesday, said the 2023 edition of the union’s press week would begin Friday, 11th August with a Juma’at prayer.

Comrade Momohjimoh disclosed this at a press conference in Lokoja to herald the week-long activities of the union.

He said the Juma’at prayer will be followed by a Christian prayer on Sunday, the 12th of August while  on Monday, the 14th is set aside for road walk for members of the union to exercise and keep fit for their health benefits.

The chairman said the grand finale of the week comes up on Wednesday, the 16th of August with a public presentation of a book titled: Media Development in Kogi State (1991-2023).

The book, according to him, was essentially put together to give an overview of how the media industry has fared in Kogi state since its creation.

“The 324 page book will be most useful to communications students in tertiary institutions as well as useful to Journalists, media researchers and the reading public.

“Notable Kogites which have impacted positively on their various communities and people have also been selected by the Council for the Union’s awards,” he said.
