Coalition of youth and women political groups in the all Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi state have charged members and supporters to collect their PVC in order to deliver votes for Usman Ododo, the governorship candidate of the party.
The leader of the coalition, Yakubu Adabenege, stated this in Lokoja weekend during a solidarity walk organised by the youth and women in the state in appreciation of the effort of Governor Yahaya Bello for chosen a vibrant and experience young man, Ododo, as his successor.
The solidarity walk which was coordinated by Yakubu Adabenege and Zakari Abbas kick-started at ten o’clock in zone 8, Lokoja.
It was attended by multitudes of APC members and supporters from the 21 local government areas who on their volition entered the rain to walk from the starting point to the popular Paparanda square where the exercise terminated.
Adabenege said no election can be won without the use of the Permanent Voters Card and urged the supporters of Ododo to collect their PVCs before the November election.
He stated that the solidarity walk was organised to appreciate Governor Bello for considering a young person as his successor and also to declare their unalloyed support for the candidate of APC.
Abisoye Modupe from Kogi west in her remarks said they were supporting the candidacy of Ododo in appreciation of the good things Governor Bello has done for women, especially in the areas of appointments and empowerment which she noted has never happened in the history of the state.
She said women across the three senatorial districts are strongly supporting the APC candidate, Ododo, so that he can continue the legacies of the governor where appointment into offices are not lopsided as we have witnessed in the previous administrations.
