2023 Kogi governorship election: INEC declares APC’s Ododo winner, governor-elect

Usman Ododo of All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of November 11, 2023 Kogi State Ggvernorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This was after the State Returning Officer, Prof Johnson Urama, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, announced him the winner and governor-elect late Sunday night.

He said the announced results showed that Ododo polled 446,237 votes, to beat his closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who scored 259,052, while Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got 46,362 votes.

He said the earlier scheduled bye-election in some polling units on November 18, 2023 will no longer take place.
