Super Eagles gaffer Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has declared that he is not interested in coaching the national team of the Cote D’Ivoire after being shortlisted for the vacant managerial job of the Elephants.
Keshi’s agent Emma Addo said in a telephone conversation, that his client is very happy being coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria and he intends to see out his two year deal.
“My client (Keshi) is very happy with his present job as coach of Nigeria, he has a two year contract and as a professional he intends to see it out” he said.
He called on Nigerians to disregard such reports as it’s mainly meant to distract the country in her quest to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Addo said the confusion over his client being shortlisted among those interested in replacing Herve Renard, who recently left the Africa champions for Lille in France has more to do with the coach’s CV, which is with the Ivorien F.A as with other nations before his re- appointment as coach of Super Eagles.
Despite his denial he insists that Keshi feels honoured to be shortlisted by the Ivorien FA due to his near perfect relationship with people of the country, a relationship that dates back to his playing days.
