The Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Alieru, Thursday, commenced the process of disbursing N793 million National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to students.
The university has extended the period of students’ registration earlier scheduled to end on 29/3/2025, while the levy charged for late registration would be refunded to the affected students.
The acting vice chancellor, Professor Muhammad Abubakar Maikasuwa, announced this at a news briefing at the university in Alieru.
“The NELFUND provided by the federal government to the institution is intact, disbursement started Tuesday and the management of the University has approved the release of funds for the first batch of screened beneficiaries.
“The university also generated N24 million from accommodation charges in addition to the money garnered from registration of students.
“The university is grateful to the incumbent administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level and Kebbi state led by Governor Nasir Idris for their care to the welfare of students,” the acting VC remarked.
