Kebbi state government has completed arrangement to convert the newly built modern specialist Hospital Kalgo to a University Teaching Hospital as already, contract worth N1.2 billion for the upgrading of the hospital’s equipment.
The Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Husaini Abdullahi Raha, who disclosed this, said the conversion was aimed at providing efficient and quality health to the people.
According to him, President Goodluck Jonathan and other medical professionals would visit the hospital for proper assessment of the equipment provided in hospital.
The commissioner further revealed that government also awarded contract for the procurement of drugs worth N500 million for distribution to various hospitals across the state.
Raha further said 50 indigenes were sponsored to study medicine abroad, while 100 students were in various universities in the country.
