Kebbi state government has concluded plans to enrol one million out of school children and settle over N700 million for 2019 WAEC/NECO fees.
Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu made this known in Birnin Kebbi Tuesday while addressing a press conference to mark the nation’s 59th independence anniversary. He stated that plans have been on top gear to make the programme a success.
He stated further that the whole idea was to clamp down and drastically reduce the menace of out of school children and make them useful to the state, themselves and the larger society.
He said the state government is working with traditional and leaders of thoughts to realise the goal adding that the exercise would commence in earnest across the 21 local government councils in the state.
