Kebbi partners American doctors on medical outreach

Kebbi state government, in collaboration with American doctors, has commenced a three -week medical outreach in the state to assist the people gain access to health facilities at the ultra modern Hospital, Kalgo near Birnin kebbi, the state capital.
The state Commissioner for Health, Alhahi Umar Usman Kambazza, who made this known yesterday, said a total of 60 medical doctors in different fields have arrived the state for the second round of the medical outreach. He said, adequate drugs and health personnel drawn from various hospitals across the state, were redeployed for the exercise while drugs were offered free of charge.
Kambazza further disclosed that the outreach would address all kinds of ailments, whether major or minor, adding that those with delicate cases would be referred to conventional hospitals for follow up. Asked about the number of patients expected to be covered by the exercise, the commissioner said, “Honestly, we cannot be certain on the number of patients to be examined and treated for now until the registration is over.’ It would be recalled that the first visit of the American doctors early this year treated over 1280 patients with various ailments.
