The Kebbi state governor, Nasir Idris, Wednesday said his main focus now is to financially assist groups and associations for economic empowerment.
He made the remark at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi while addressing thousands of supporters who held a rally in solidarity with him.
“The largeness of this crowd shows your love for me. It is an indication that our journey is blessed and you have shown true love for the incumbent administration.
“We give glory to GOD. My focus now is to provide the necessary assistance to the people and we shall extend hand of benevolence to all groups and associations, youth and women groups. Every association will be benefit.
“The objective is to improve the quality of life of our people as the government has achieved record progress in infrastructural development and the status of our state capital has been transformed into modern cosmopolitan.
“What remains is economic empowerment and the people have voted APC into victory, my own duty is reciprocation. With this overwhelming solidarity, we need little support in 2027 to win election.
“The past governors have tried their best on development, but what I have been doing is to bring improvement to what is on ground which I did to an excellent level,” the governor said.
The Commissioner for Works, Abdullahi Umar Muslim, reappraised the achievement of the administration of Governor Idris on infrastructural development, with focus on roads construction and the new modern secretariat complex and other facilities.
