Kebbi awards N890m water contract

Kebbi state government has awarded N890 million contract for the supply and extension of potable drinking water for Birnin Kebbi, the state capital and its environs.

 

Speaking with newsmen at the Dukku Hills water works side in Birnin Kebbi, the Chairman, State Public Procurement and Price Intelligence Committee, Alhaji Mohammed Sirajo Garba, disclosed that the gesture was in fulfilment of Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu-led administration campaign promises.

 

He further explained that the work had already commenced in earnest and when completed the problem of water supply within the capital and other environs would be a thing of the past.

 

Sirajo, however, expressed optimism that the contractor would live up to expectation by executing a quality job within the stipulated contractual agreement period of one year and six months.

 

“I and my team are so far satisfied with the first phase of the work, that is right from the pipes he supply which is of high quality standard while the immediate mobilisation to site by the contractor is also quite impressive”.

 

“We would ensure that only quality jobs are accepted from contractors and frown at bad and substandard jobs” he added

 

Also speaking the contracting firm Project Manager of China Zhonghao Brosino Investments Ltd, Mr. Wei Meng, assured that the job would be completed within the time frame and promised to execute only quality job as a service to humanity.
