A drama is currently on stage between the Kebbi state House of Assembly and the former governor of the state, Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari, over alleged N6.4 billion scam.
The former governor, who was summoned by the Assembly barely a month ago, was said to had shunned the earlier invitation to appear before the floor of the House to explain the level of his involvement in the shoddy deal.

A recent letter sent to the former governor sign by the Clark to the House Alhaji Umar Buhari, asking him to appear before the House for questioning over inflation of contract with regards to upgrading of Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna International Airport Birnin Kebbi, which initial contract was awarded at the cost of N12 billion.
The contract was later jacked to N18.6 billion and without adherence to due process

“You are to appear before the House on the 23 May 2017 and that failure to comply, the House would be left with no option than to go the hard way”
However, some political analysts in the state, who spoke with our correspondent condemned the action of the Assembly, thereby, describing it “as an act of cowardice and un-legislative”.
Malam Garba Danhadi, said the “idea is not bad to probe anybody that misappropriated public funds, but should be done at an appropriate time in order to avoid suspicion and disabuse the minds of the citizens that the Assembly members are not just a mere rubber stamp to the executive arm by acting on its script”.
