Kazaure advises corps members to use mobile app

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier-General Suleiman Kazaure has called on corps members to utilize the scheme’s mobile application to ensure a stress-free service year and to be up to date with many activities happening in the scheme.
Addressing the 2018 Batch B Stream 2 at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Kubwa Abuja yesterday, Kazaure said corps members in different states, including Nasarawa, were taking advantage of technological innovations to ensure successful service year, especially by making use of NYSC mobile app to communicate with officials in their places of primary assignment (PPAs) and NYSC.
Represented on the occasion by the ICT Director of NYSC, Mrs Christy Ifeanyi Uba, Kazaure said serving corps members were stressing themselves unnecessarily to communicate with their employers and NYSC; when they can make use of the toll-free mobile app that can be downloaded from Google playstore, which he said was at their convenience.
He said: “The NYSC mobile app is really of immense help to corps members during their service year.
I was in Nasarawa state recently and I discovered that corps members in the state, like their counterpart in other states, use the mobile app for ease of communication between them and their Local Government Inspectors, PPAs, CDS officers and for checking monthly biometrics, CDS attendance among other things.
“Technology has taken over the world and we should all tap into it.
Corps members should always visit their dashboard on daily basis for important information.
Nevertheless, corps members are also expected to be careful of how they use the social media, especially in disseminating hate speech.
Some of the things people ignorantly say on social media impact on others; negatively.” Kazaure added that the corps members should accept wherever they are posted for their service year in good faith and fit into their PPAs and host communities, “because it is God directing them”.
He said that the SAED program being carried out by the scheme is to ensure that corps members will become employers of labour in the future, “because they all have potentials” and advised corps members to make use of the opportunity afforded them by the scheme, including post-camp training.
