Kano/Jigawa Customs command seizes 38 cartons of tramadole, others

The Kano /Jigawa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service disclosed that it has seized 38 cartons of illicit drugs Rolmax 225kilogramm, known as [Tramadolea] around Briniwa and Galadi In Jigawa state worth about N30 million.
The Comptroller of the Command, Alhaji Yusuf Abba Kassim who made the isclosure , also revealed that his men and officers seized 500 bags of foreign rice along Kao / Kaduna estimated at about N10million.
Displaying the items his office before Journalists from Jigawa and Kano states, yesterday Kassim said they received intelligent information from Birniwa and Galadi communities in Jigawa and intercepted the car carrying packaged illicit drugs were the driver and owners abandoned their vehicle and took to their heels.
Kassim stated further the smugglers used Ox carts and motorcycles to import the drugs through illegal routes in Jigawa state, stating that each cartons contains 20 packets of the drugs The Comptroller who decried that authorities complained that Kano and Jigawa state have the highest consumers of hard drugs, explained that after investigation , they will hand over the drugs to national Drugs Law Enforcement Agency[NDLEA].
He went to explain further that their men and officers had intercepted two trucks loaded with bags of Beans, Millet , Guinea corn and maize ,when searched ,they discovered 500 bags of 59 kg, foreign rice sealed in the sacks of the food stuffs as camouflage.
