The Kano state government Wednesday reaffirmed its determination to ensure that it effected proper and reliable certification of land ownership in the state.
Speaking at a press briefing in Kano, the Commissioner of Land and Physical Planning, Alhaji Abduljabbar Umar, said the exercise was meant to provide accurate and reliable records through the elimination of manual process.
He stated that the exercise would also minimise errors, manipulation and delays in processing transactions in addition to making land ownership certification and verification updates straightforward.
He stated further that the new certificates were designed with advanced security features rendering them virtually impossible to forge, adding that it would ensure the integrity of property rights and also reduce incidents of fraud by criminals.
