Kano obtains legal opinion on collaboration with Islamic Devt Bank

Kano state Government has obtained a legal opinion from the Federal Ministry of Justice as a prerequisite for the proposed Integrated Agriculture and Water Resources Development Project which will be funded by the Islamic Development Bank.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) gave the permission when Governor of Kano state Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by his Deputy Dr.Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna visited him in his office in Abuja recently.

 Three weeks ago, the Deputy Governor led a delegation of the State Government Officials to the Headquarters of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah,Saudi Arabia to a follow up meeting with the Vice President Operations Dr.Mansur Muktar and other management staff of the Bank on the two projects.

He also  had a meeting with the Managing Director of the Nigeria Incentive Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL) Alh.Aliyu Abdulhamid Abbati at the agency’s Headquarters in Abuja on how to sustain collaboration for development of Agricultural value chain in the State.

During the meeting both the Kano State Government and NIRSAL  agreed to hold a Technical session in Kano where deliberations  will be made on the set goals.
