Despite the effort intensified by the Kano state government to eradicate polio in all the 44 local government areas of the state, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, has confirmed that a child had been affected by the disease in Sumaila local government.
Speaking when he paid a visit to the area, Yusuf urged parents to embark on the clearing of waste and embrace the culture of personnel and environmental hygiene since waste is the contributing factor of any disease.
He also counseled the people to take their children to the nearest health centre for routine immunisation to protect them against the six killer diseases.
