Kaduna: Sani flags off 35km road to connect Igabi, Chikun councils

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state has flagged-off the construction of a 35 kilometers road to link Gadan Gayan in Igabi local government with Gwaraji and Maraban Kujama in Chikun local government area of the state.

The governor was warmly welcomed, as he flagged off the construction of six-kilometre signboard – Juji – bypass road in the Sabon Tasha area in Chikun local government area. Speaking while flagging off the road construction project at Gadan Gayan on Monday, Governor Sani who was flanked by his deputy, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, said the road is one of the many projects lined up by his administration to bridge the gap between the rural and urban areas, as well as make rural areas lively.

“He added that aside the immediate employment opportunities it will create along the benefiting communities, the 35 kilometers road will on completion within 12 months, link the farming communities with markets.

“Our government is determined to facilitate commerce and opportunities through the provision of good road networks. Igabi and Chikun local government areas have huge agricultural potentials, hence we are committed to giving our local farmers the necessary support required to boost their yields and market their produce.

“We want to bridge the gap between the rural and urban areas. We want to make rural life a pleasurable experience, that is why we are pursuing our rural transformation agenda with zeal. During the construction of this road, there will be job opportunities for skilled and unskilled workers. When the road is completed, every town from the two local governments and communities along the route will be safer. Post-harvest loses by farmers will be drastically reduced. I thank everyone who have supported us from the beginning to this moment,” he said.
