The Kaduna state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated a 17-man reconciliation committee, under the chairmanship of Alhaji Shauibu Idris Mikati.
The committee’s was primarily mandated to restore unity and trust within the party.
The committee drew membership from various local government areas across the state, among other things, will identify and resolve grievances among party faithful, particularly those arising from recent party congresses and primary elections, reach out to those that might have been neglected and appease members who left the party with a view to bringing them into the party’s fold.
They are also expected to recommend strategies to prevent future conflicts and promote unity, among other objectives set out by the party.
At the inauguration ceremony held at Asaa Pyramid Hotel in Kaduna, the PDP state chairman, Chief Edward Percy Masha, expressed gratitude to the committee members and confidence in their ability to deliver on their mandate, adding that the committee had two months to complete the assignment.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, the committee’s chairman thanked the party for the confidence reposed in them and assured that they would work tirelessly to address grievances and recommend reconciliatory plans that would strengthen the party
Other members of the committee included Mrs. Abigail Aya, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed, Mrs. Ladi Edward Pati, Hon. Mohammed Hamisu Dantajiri, Mr. Vincent Bodam, Wing Cdr (RTD) D.A Kwasu,
and Hon. Ahmad Tsoho Kargi.
Others were Alhaji Salisu Nuhu Maimasara, Hon. Abdul Azeez Muazu, Hon. Hamisu Tijjani, Alhaji Ahmadu Inuwa, Pharm.Turaki Zinka Kalik, Dr. Shehu Abdullahi, Hon. Abdulrasheed Dogara, Barr. Hamisu Hamza and Comrade Edward John Auta (Secretary).
