The Kaduna state chapter of the 3 Million Technical Talents (3MTT) programme has marked the graduation of its second cohort with a summit celebrating tech innovation and skills development.
The 3MTT programme is part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, which is aimed at building the country’s technical talent backbone to power the digital economy and position Nigeria as a net talent exporter.
The event featured a hackathon themed, “Tech for Good,” which was meant to showcase innovative solutions aimed at solving societal problems through technology.
Out of 100 submissions, five projects were selected to compete in the final stage.
Team Health Connect emerged as the winner, receiving a cash prize of N500, 000 for their healthcare solution.
Teach YouthSpark secured second place with N300, 000, while the third prize of N200, 000 went to another promising innovation.
The second and third finalists also received support from local businesses committed to nurturing young tech talent.
The vice-chancellor of Kaduna State University (KASU), Abdullahi Musa, represented by Hafsat Yakubu Adamu, emphasised the importance of technology in education and societal development.
He noted KASU’s commitment to sending students for internships at tech hubs and requiring professional certifications for graduation.
The Community Manager of 3MTT Kaduna, Zahra Yunusa, highlighted the programme’s vision to train three million Nigerians in tech skills and attract global investors.
“Our graduates are equipped to build scalable businesses that solve local problems and compete globally,” she said.
