Kaduna Corporate League Cup: Unity Bank face UBA in final

Three-time champions, Unity Bank, have booked a date with double finalists, UBA in the final of the 7th edition of the Kaduna Corporate League Cup, billed for the Main Bowl of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on Saturday.

In the semi final clash decided under the floodlight, Unity Bank defeated Fidelity Bank 1- 0 to knock out the defending champions. The lone goal was scored by tournament leading scorer, Aliyu Mohammed, who now has notched 15 goals to remain in line for the tourney’s top scorer award.
The second semi final saw last year’s runners-up, UBA, whitewashed Access Bank 5 -1, to win a place in the final. Saheed Abdulrazak scored four of the goals, while Raph Etah netted the remaining goal. Nuhu Mohammed scored Access Bank’s consolation goal.

Apart from the final match slated for March 22, FCMB will play First Bank for the 8th and 7th position classification match, while CBN will lock horns with Zenith Bank for the 5th and 6th position classification game. The third place match will be between Fidelity Bank and Access Bank, while 100m sprint heat and finals qre also scheduled for the final day as side attraction for the final.

The CBN branch controller, Ibrahim Gusau, and the Kaduna state commissioner for sports, Hon. Bashir Zubairu, are expected to serve as the special guest of honour. The other guests are chairman, Ranchers Bees FC, Hon. Abdulazeez Mohammed, vice chairman, League Management Committee (LMC), Hon. Sabo Babayaro and NFF board member, Hon Shehu Adamu.

Other guests expected for the final are chairman, DSS FC, Mr. Sunday Adeleye, ex-Kaduna United FC team manager, Hon. Babawo Abdulahi, veteran journalist, Mr. John Fwah, zonal coordinator, National Sports Commission (NSC), Kaduna, Dr. Ademola Are, chairman, Kaduna state Referee Council, Mr. Johnson Badero, YSFON secretary, Kaduna state, Malam Abdulrazaq Usman, Mr. Chuks Obasi and Mr. Daniel Ogbonna.

The president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alh. Aminu Maigari, will also be given an award of excellence.
The tournament is organised by Bestworth Insurance Brokers and supported by Wadson Sport International and Bertway International.
