Kaduna Central: I wept to discover senator used my results for ABU admission – College ex-student

A former student of Ameer Shehu ldris College of Advanced Studies, Zaria, has expressed shock when she discovered that a serving senator altered the names on her Diploma Certificate to allegedly gain admission into Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

Halima Ibrahim Ndanusa, who graduated with a diploma certificate from the Department of Public Administration from the College of Advanced Studies in 2013, told a Kaduna Central Senatorial Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Kaduna on Tuesday that she was devastated.

“I cried profusely when I heard that a Senator used my hard-earned results to gain admission into ABU while I wandered around without job. I studied for two years through sleepless nights of hard work and research, but someone just forged the result,” she said.

Halima Ndanusa was a student at Public Administration Department, Ameer Shehu College of Advanced Studies, an affiliate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 2011 and 2013 with registration number A11/PA/1147 where she obtained a diploma certificate which was later forged by a certain Lawal Adamu to gain admission into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for a direct entry degree programme at the Public Administration Department of the university.

Speaking with journalists out of the court session, Halima Ibrahim in an emotionally laden voice expressed deep shock that a person who forge results still shamelessly seek to lead people, while the real owners of the results suffer in abject poverty and lack of jobs.

Ameer Shehu Idris College of Advanced Studies was subpoenaed by the Court to testify in an election petition tribunal of the Kaduna Central Senatorial District filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate, Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo against Senator Lawal Adamu Usman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on a three count charges including the PDP candidate’s qualification to contest the election given his presentation of forged certificates, and also substantial non compliance with the Electoral

Act.

While testifying on Tuesday at the tribunal sitting in Kaduna, the Provost of the College, Dr. Richard Ogunleye said, “we have thoroughly checked our records for year 2011/2013 academic session and we do not have a student with the name Lawal Adamu with registration number A11/PA/1147. However, we can confirm that we have a female student; Halima Ibrahim Ndanusa, as the bonafide student with the same registration number A11/PA/1147 that graduated in the period under review.”

Halima Ibrahim, therefore sought for justice and prosecution of the offender for using her result fraudulently without her consent. She also called on the management of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria to immediately expunge her diploma certificate from the records of the alleged graduate.
