Kaduna bombing: JIBWIS condoles with Sultan, emir of Zazzau, demands probe

The national chairman, Council of Ulama, Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has cautioned the Nigerian military over the bombing of Muslim worshippers in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.

The Islamic group also called on the military hierarchy and the federal government to investigate the incident.

Sheikh Jingir said the killing of innocent Nigerians by the military is totally unacceptable and  must be stopped.

The cleric made the statement Tuesday during a press briefing, held at his residence in Jos.

He said Allah will hold leaders to account on each and every life lost or injured.

“Since the military has owned up to the bombardment, should we say it was intentional?” he asked.

He said on the contrary, if eventually the incident occurred as a “mistaken identity,” then the matter must not only be investigated, but those that took part in the bombing should also be punished.

“The military, the SSS, the Police, the Customs, the Immigration, must sit to evaluate their activities so that bad ones amongst them could not spoil the ethics of their work.”
