The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Sports Development, Professor Kabir Mato, said the state boasts of several world class sports facilities, which gives it an edge.
“With the facilities being put in place in Murtala Square, the facilities in Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) and other facilities, Kaduna is a good host,” he said.

“We look forward to the NSF, we will participate in full swing, as the governor has approved the participation of Kaduna state in all events at the 2020 NSF and we are determined to top, beating Delta, Edo and others.
“We are in support of sports development. Recently, the governor indicated interest in rehabilitating facilities at federal government-owned Ahmadu Bello Stadium in view of his quest to further develop sports in the state. The youth, and athletes would be given support by the government.
“There are plans to ensure that athletes are selected from the Kaduna State Sports Festival, from where those selected and those selected from the school sports will go into closed camp,” Mato said.
