Julius Berger doles out palliatives to FCT communities

As part of efforts to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic Julius Berge Nigeria has expanded its food donation initiative to assist vulnerable indigenes and residents of Abuja.

The Food for our Communities Campaign which started in Lagos state has been extended to the six Area Councils of Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada, Bwari, Kuje, and the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

A press statement by the Group Head, Media Relations Office of the company, Prince Moses Duku, Thursday in Abuja, said the company also donated food items to the Kagini Community at the Palace of Seriki Kagini, Alhaji Isah Jemutu Gbegbe.

According to the statement, the Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido, and his counterpart at the Kuje Area Council, Hon. Abdullahi Sabo, as well as the Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. (Dr.) John Gabaya, appreciated the company and pledged their indebtedness for the company.

Similarly, the traditional ruler of the Kagini Community, a former senior officer of the Nigerian Immigration Service, who led his traditional cabinet and the people to receive the Juluis Berger team led by Prince Duku, and the Group Head, Corporate Communications Department, Mr James Agama, appreciated the company for the gesture.

On his part, Prince Duku conveyed the goodwill and best wishes of the company’s Managing Director, Engr. Dr. Lars Richter, the Board, Executive Management and entire staff of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and thanked the community for their peaceful and progressive disposition to issues of development in the FCT.

He assured that the Managing Director of Julius Berger, Engr. Dr. Lars Richter, has pledged that the company would continue to utilize its widely resourceful scope to provide impactful support directly to communities and those working the front lines to tackle the spread of the pandemic.

According to Dr Richter, “…the fight to contain the spread and threat of Covid-19 is a fight we must all join hands and win together.”

The project is billed to proceed to Kaduna, Kano, Onitsha and Asaba amongst other locations where help is critically needed.
