Breaking: Jubilation as FCTA reopens popular Abuja market

Traders in Garki International Market were in high heavens Wednesday afternoon as officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) reopened the market which was shut six days ago over poor sanitation.

The officials led by the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Monitoring Inspection and Enforcement, Ikharo Attah, arrived the market for reopening around 3.30pm, after a painstaking inspection of its sanitary condition.

Speaking to newsmen during the exercise, Attah expressed satisfaction with the management and traders of the market for swinging into action to ensure the restoration of the sanity of the market.

Attah however, warned the traders that the administration will not hesitate to seal up the market again if the management and traders fail to maintain the standard of environmental cleanliness.
