Governor of Plateau state, Da Jonah David Jang, has said that the bomb that cause the death of Alhaji Bello Ahmad Ali and others was a sad, describing it as a “calamity.”
Jang stated this yesterday, while commiserating with the wives and families of the late Bello and his other friend, Alhaji Auwalu, during a condolence visit to the respective families.

Jang, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Barrister Olivia Dazym, said Bello was indeed a hero that had saved the lives of many innocent people that would have been killed.
He said: “If not for the high level of vigilance that he had shown in handling the matter, it would have led to an unprecedented thing that would have happen to Nigeria, where a single bomb would have consumed the lives of over 1000, that had gathered at the viewing center, as we are told.

“And to God Bello has done a well done job, and we condole with you his family members.
“It is a huge call on the People of the state, that they should keep vigil of their environments.”
Jang said he was appreciative of the level of awakening by the youth in trying to secure the state, and urged them to do more within the ambit of the law.

Responding, an elder of the community, Alhaji Sadiq Ibrahim Masalla, who spoke on behalf of the family, thanked the government of the state for the condolence visit, and sought the immortalisation of the late Bello by the government and support for the family he had left behind.
The commissioner, who was also accompanied by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Idi Waziri, and his permanent secretary, said they would recommend to the governor the Masalla request.
