Jonathan winning war against insurgents – Turaki

By Samuel Ogidan

The federal government yesterday declared that President Goodluck Jonathan was winning the war against insurgents.
Minister of Special Duties and Inter Governmental Affairs, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, disclosed this in Abuja when he received a delegation of the Igbo World Union (IWU) on behalf of President Jonathan.
Turaki, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Okey Muogbo, recounted efforts of President Jonathan’s administration in bringing the insurgency to an end, insisting that the federal government had done far more than what had been appreciated.

He said: “Let me say that many Nigerians do not understand the complexities of the war against terror because terrorism is a new phenomenon as far as Nigeria is concerned.
“The commitment of the present administration to bring back the Chibok girls as soon as possible is something that is unwavering.”
Earlier, the IWU leader, Chief Dr. Mishak Nnanta, told the minister that his group believed in the unity of Nigeria and that that they were happy with how President Jonathan had treated the Igbo as well as the way he had been piloting the affairs of the country.
