President Goodluck Jonathan shall today pay a visit to Chibok in Borno state where nearly 300 schoolgirls were abducted by Boko Haram insurgents, Blueprint learnt yesterday.
There have been massive protests and global demand for the immediate and unconditional release of the abducted girls.
Presidency sources confirmed that the president would be in Chibok in the morning and proceed to Paris for a summit on regional security.
Jonathan is visiting the troubled Chibok for the first time since the girls were abducted 32 days ago.
Analysts had expressed concern over the inability of the president to visit the town for an on-the-spot assessment of the damage done by the insurgents, which has increasingly been drawing global attention.
