Founder of Leadership Newspapers and presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah, has said that the incompetence of President Goodluck Jonathan was sliding the country backward, adding that it was time to save the country from the failed PDP government.
Nda-Isaiah stated this yesterday in Minna, Niger state, at the public declaration of his intention to contest the presidential election in 2015.
“It is difficult to know the exact point this downward slide started. But the misfortune of this country obviously started from the time the PDP came into power in 1999,” he said.
He said the incompetence of the Presidency has also made the Military to be grossly incompetent in the fight against insurgents to the extent of fleeing battle fronts as against the old when soldiers were gallant.
He lampooned the Jonathan administration for borrowing $1 billion to fight the insurgency, adding that Nigeria did not borrow such money even in civil war.
“We are going to expand the various security outfits to match the challenges of our current size,” he said.
Nda-Isaiah lamented that the PDP government had entrenched corruption in the country over the years to extreme levels, adding, “The federal government is no longer able to pay state governments and other government agencies their due allocation.”
The event was witnessed by many dignitaries, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, governor of Rivers, Rotimi Amaechi; former governor of Ekiti, Kayode Fayemi, and several Senators.
