Worried by the recent onslaught on schools by the Boko Haram sect, President Goodluck Jonathan has directed security agencies to put in place strategies to ensure that no school in the country is attacked again.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, disclosed this while receiving students of Pacesetter College, Gwarinpa, at the Force headquarters, Abuja.
Abubakar said that following the directive, security agencies were collaborating and strategising to ensure that no child lose his or live in course of pushing their education.
He said: “The President is particularly disturbed and worried and therefore, he has directed that everything that needs to be done must be done to stop this distardly act.
“I want to use this opportunity to assure that all the security agencies are doing everything possible and putting strategies in place to ensure that no school is attacked again.”
The IGP, who called for a minute silent in honour of the dead students, urged the visiting students to take their education seriously, saying that education was necessary to aspire to leadership positions.
