Jonathan conferred legality on confab – Kwara lawmaker

A member of the Kwara state House of Assembly, Hon Hamid Giwa Afolabi has said that the legality of the ongoing national conference lied on the raison d’être of its set-up by President Goodluck Jonathan and that its outcome would be subjected to a referendum.

Hon Giwa Afolabi who stated this during his visit to Abuja at the weekend noted that the calibre of Nigerians who make up the conference conferred credibility on it while sharing the President’s views that its outcome would be fruitful and would provide solutions to the problems of the country.

The state lawmaker however stated that the outcome of the referendum should be ratified by the National Assembly to enable it become part of the amendment of the constitution being undertaken by the National Assembly.
He noted that the conference would hasten its work in order to ensure that its outcome meets constitution amendment.
