As parts its preparations for 2014 Hajj operations, the Jigawa state Pilgrims Welfare Board has said that it had rented three-storey building in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to accommodate 2,404 pilgrims allocated to the state for this year’s Hajj.
The board’s Executive Secretary, Alhaji Sani Alhassan Muhammad, the Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gidan Gumel, said in a statement issued by Public Relations Officer, Comrade Mati Ali, that the rented houses contained 2,239 capacity that could accommodate all pilgrims, excluding the Amiurul Hajj, state government delegation and offices.
He explained that the houses were al-jabir with 1,289 capacity and Qhasal Haram with 239 capacity all located along the Shar sittin Street, Makkah, as well as Ibn Afif House with 709 capacity along Shar Mansoor Street.
Muhammed added that, according to their assessments, all the three houses were of standard and had hotel facilities, with each room containing toilet, television, fridge, air conditioner and other necessary facilities to make life comfortable for the pilgrims in the Holy Land.
The executive secretary added that already a sign board for Jigawa state government had erected in front of each house as well
as rooms numbering, adding that each local government area had been allocated their rooms for easy identification and coordination.
He added that already the collection of Hajj deposits for the first batch of this year’s exercise had been completed and were “now waiting for the allocation of second set so as to commence the orientation of the pilgrims across the state.”
