Jigawa first lady distributes 60,000 exercise books to schools

Jigawa state First Lady, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi, Wednesday, distributed about 60,000 exercise books to schools across the five emirates in the state.

The exercise books were distributed under the Basic Educational Support Programme anchored by the wife of the state governor, in tandem with the 12-point agenda of the Namadi administration.

Hajiya Namadi said the policy of assisting the vulnerable members of the society was developed by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, from the inception of the present administration.

She also explained that in addition to the palliatives distributed to vulnerable people several times across the state, the First Lady of Nigeria also provided exercise books to schools across the states.

Hadiza Namadi, while distributing the learning materials at the Central Primary School Ringim and Kudu Primary School Kazaure, said the effort was to encourage education as tool for better citizenship.

She further stressed that in the Dutse emirate, about 12,000 exercise books were distributed and would be handed over to the beneficiaries in various schools.

A similar distribution of the exercise books was done in Gumel and Hadejia emirates, respectively.

In the Kazaure emirate, she emphasised that the present government is more committed than any other administration to uplifting basic education.

“The present administration has an unwavering commitment to improving education across the state.

“Because a literate child is always useful to the community, state, and the nation as a whole while the illiterate child is dangerous to the society and the nation,” she added.
