The Jigawa state government has established a Hibiscus Cleaning and Fumigation Company in collaboration with a private investor at Maigatari local government area of the state.
Governor Malam Umar Namadi said his government has vowed to improve the standard of packaging local agricultural products to enhance value chain and market guarantee for dealers, consumers and exporters.
He said this Tuesday at Maigatari, Nigeria / Niger border town, where the free trade zone was established 20 years ago.
“Jigawa state is a leading state in producing Hibiscus, Sesame,, Rice and other agricultural crops.
“Therefore government is determined to partner with other private companies to promote value chain and standard in production, processing and packaging of Hibiscus for competing at local and international markets.
“Jigawa state government has been taking all necessary steps in transforming the state agricultural sector with provision of modern farm inputs, improved seed training and other needed facilities to the farmers at a subsidies price,” Namadi explained.
He said the efforts of the state government is yielding fruitful results. Saying heavy investments are going to generate employments and job creations, food security, growth and development.
“This government will go round the world and source machine that will improve the Hibiscus production harvesting and processing.
