Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), under the leadership of Jonah Jang, yesterday advised the new governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr Godwin Emefiele, to put the interest of the country above any other.
The Forum also called on him to make the nation, Nigerians and the government he is serving his top priorities rather than self as he assumed duties as the boss of the apex bank.

NGF, in a statement by its Administrator, Earl Osaro Onaiwu, encouraged the new CBN governor to stay faithful to the roles and functions of his job.
The statement added that governors of the Forum were looking forward to working with Emefiele and hoped his vision for the CBN would be one that would encourage fiscal responsibility in both the public and private sectors.
NGF also asked Nigerians and those in the relevant sectors in particular to support the CBN governor in his new role with a view to ensuring monetary stability for the common good.
