Islamic clerics urge Tinubu/Shettima to be fair to all 


Ahead of the May 29th inauguration of the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration, Yoruba Imams and Alfas in the North has embarked on prays for Nigerian leaders.

The Islamic clerics also urged Nigerians to have faith in Allah and pray for their leaders always. They called on Tinubu and vice president-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, to be fair to all.

Imam of National Mosque, Shiek Ahmed Onilewura, who led the prayer that took place Weekend at National Mosque, Abuja, appealed to Nigerians to rally round their leaders.

Onilewura said a prayer to Allah and genuine support from followers will help guide the leaders.

He said: “This is to call on people to go closer to him, advise him and guide him to deliver on his campaign promises.”

Explaining what gave birth to the program, the deputy chairman of Yoruba Imams and Alfas in the North, Lawal Ibrahim, said leaders need prayers.

He stated that, “Prayer is very important for our leaders. No matter the situation we find ourselves, we must continue to pray for our leaders. This is because if they are successful, things will be better for us as citizens.

“We are Muslims, we are instructed to fear Allah, practice our religion, and pray for our leaders, especially the president-elect,” he added.
