IPAC flays Jonathan over ‘old men at confab’

The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) said it is disappointed with the composition of the ongoing national conference which merely accommodated only five political parties and leaving the rest out.
A communiqué signed by the chairman, Dr Tanko Yunusa at the end of its meeting noted that it was part of President Goodluck Jonathan’s schemes to deregister the 20 political parties which were not accommodated at the conference.
IPAC stated that no political party can represent the interest of the other maintaining that the constitution of the parties was different and operated different ideologies.

IPAC also condemned the nomination of persons above the age of 70 into the ongoing conference saying that such analogue men would not be able to find solutions to the country’s woes and blamed them for landing the country into the mess.
The Inter Party Advisory Council stated that these old men and women have converted the National Conference to a sleeping ground saying that the funds deployed for the conference would amount to a total waste since they did not have the capacity to proffer solutions to the country’s problems.
The council also expressed condolence to the families of the job seekers who lost their lives during the recruitment exercise calling on the National assembly to openly carry out an investigation into the matter.

IPAC also called on the national assembly to conduct an open investigation into the allegations made by the former Central Bank Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi calling for transparent audit of the activities of the Petroleum Ministry.
The group also noted that calls by the Anamabra State Chapter for the deregistration of the All Progressive Party (APC) was unwarranted, undemocratic and capable of sending wrong signals instructing all chapters to clarify national body before addressing any press conference.
