Investors stake N2.902bn on shares

Investors yesterday  traded 466.522 million shares worth N2.902 billion in 4274 deals. This is against 361.052 million shares valued at N3.682 billion exchanged hands on Friday  in 4396 deals. The Nigerian Stock Exchange NSE trading result showed that  Market Capitalisation of listed equities declined to  N12.781 trillion from  N12.784 trillion traded preciously. The NSE All Share Index also sheds 8.76 basis points to 36930.83 against 36939.58 points traded on Friday last week.

A breakdown of the transactions showed that Guinness Nigeria Plc led gainers table,  during the day,  gaining N2.00 to close at N102.00, Guaranty Trust Bank followed with a gain of N0.54 kobo to close at N41.75 kobo, United Capital gained N0.22 kobo to close at N3.38 kobo,  Eterna Oil gained N0.20 kobo to close at N4.25 kobo,  Cadbury Nigeria Plc increased by N0.17 kobo to close at N10.28 kobo

On the contrary,  Total Nigeria Plc topped losers chart for the day shedding N11.00 to close at N225.00, 7UP followed with a drop of N2.00 to close at N88.00, International Breweries down by N1.65 kobo to close at N45.20 kobo,  Flour Mills declined by N0.97 kobo to close at N34.50 kobo UAC of Nigeria dropped by N0.62 kobo to close at N34.50 kobo.

Further breakdown indicated that Jaiz  Bank was most active stock during the day, trading  226.773 million shares worth N133.814 million,  FBNHoldings followed with account of 43.477 million shares cost N304.954 million. ,Transnational Corporation of Nigeria traded 27.230 million shares valued at N40.562 million,  Africa  Insurance exchanged  20.000 million shares worth N10.000 million while Diamond Bank sold 18.236 million shares cost M21.095 million
