International Alert charges participants on lasting peace, meaningful development 

The programme manager, International Alert, Mr Sunday Momoh, weekend urged the participants of a one-day training programme to ensure continuity on sustainability of the training  they have received geared towards ensuring  lasting peace and meaningful development in their communities. 

The one-day training programme for sustainability was organised by Global Peace Development with support from International Alert.

The project was to promote stability, have access to justice and ensure accountability in Kaduna state.

The training took place at New World Kafanchan, weekend and was attended by 40 participants. 

Mr Momoh stated that the event with the theme Training of Women Peace Mediation Platform (WOPEMP) Members for sustainability in Jema’a LGA, also commended the participants for their commitment to the success of the project which he revealed will be rounding up this month, and admonished them to carry out the things that they have learnt while the program last.

 He noted that the women ‘s Peace Mediation platform, WOPEMP, is a network under the project that constitutes key stakeholders in the local  government area that can be held accountable for the peace, growth and development of the communities. 

While thanking them on the need to restructure the leadership of their group, and also imbibe the spirit of writing reports, he noted that these actions would be a yardstick in justifying their activities to attract sponsors and donors to their course. 

The Kaduna state commissioner, Ministry of Human Services, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, appreciated the initiatives of International Alert for organising programmes geared towards ensuring peaceful coexistence among the communities.
