Inter Milan boss targets Mikel

Italian press are increasingly sure that Inter will swoop for Nigeria midfielder John Obi Mikel later this year.
The Chelsea man is a top target for Inter Milan coach, Walter Mazzarri, according to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.

This is after reports over the weekend said that Jose Mourinho has told Mikel he can leave at the end of the season. With Mazzarri known to be seeking a defensive midfielder, Mikel could be the fit they need.

Now 26, the Chelsea man joined the Blues in 2006 in one of their sensational steals, having been bound for Manchester United. He has gone on to win every trophy in England, plus the major UEFA trophies on offer as well as the Afcon Trophy with the Super Eagles. Stylistically, Mikel versatility for Nigeria and Chelsea will certainly endear him to an Inter side in transition.

To this end, Brazil 2014 will be key for the young man, where a good performance will make a move out of Chelsea a certainty.
